It’s good to be a… gas head.

May 26 2007

And so on 26th May 2007 Bristol Rovers returned to the third tier of the English league, now termed “League 1″, beating Shrewsbury in a close playoff final 3–1 at Wembley. Because of my horrid exam finals I was forced to miss this dream Wembley occasion, although every time I go and watch they tend to lose, so maybe it was for the best. I also had fears of the Doncaster scenario when that quick 2 minute goal went flying in.

Let’s look at some of the good moments from the season:

What a Goal!

And another against City.

The Rovers support at the JPT final in Cardiff.

Road to the Playoffs.

The Sonic Franchise

Nov 29 2006

… has reached dizzying new heights. A long time ago I mixed up the meaning for the word nadir, thinking it meant precisely the opposite. I say this now; Sonic has reached its nadir; and I truly wish this sentence held the meaning I once would have thought it did.

Joanna Newsom

Nov 14 2006

Joanna Newsom’s latest album “Ys” is currently doing the rounds on my foobar whilst being widely praised throughout the indie and alternative music scene. At the moment “Emily” is my favourite but that will likely change with time. To celebrate here’s a live performance of my favourite track from her debut, “Milk Eyed Mender” and it’s called “Clam Crab Cockle Cowrie”. This was performed in Japan in October of last year.

Planet Earth

The greatest wildlife documentary I have ever seen has returned for its concluding run! Prepare to be amazed.

X-files Quagmire

Nov 9 2006

This is one of my favourite moments in Season 3 of the X-files, glad I could find it on YouTube. Just an interesting and funny conversation between Mulder and Scully as they are stuck on a rock in the middle of a lake in the episode “Quagmire”.
