Watch Her Go!

The web host and Voltaire

Aug 30 2003

Hoorah Hoorah, Santa has come early. FINALLY. Yes FINALLY. Trivial Being is LIVE. On the net. Hosting my sites and Mr Phyzzie’s too. This wonderful hosting has been provided for by Apis Networks; the best hosting company I have ever seen. Their help has been impeccable and I give them my gold asterix. Hats off folks. I have spent the last hours sorting and organizing this newly aquired web space. Going through 6 or so sites changing urls, redirecting traffic, uploading and all that other menial crap is very tiring and frustrating but the results are worth it. Head to the portal now: http://www.trivialbeing.net. No wait, finish reading this.

Finished reading Voltaire’s Candide today and Mr ‘taire is going onto the Genius list. The book was a delight to read and while being a comedy, is very philosophical (of course!). This is something everyone who enjoyed Catcher in the Rye should read. Hint. To end the day, here is a quote;

“Fools admire everything in an established classic, I read only to please myself, and enjoy only what suits my taste.”

“Candide: Isn’t there a pleasure in criticising everything and discovering faults where other men detect beauties?
Martin: That is to say, that there is a pleasure in not being pleased.”

Currently listening to some Kenji Kawai and Ennio Morricone.
